The American Hospitality Institute, an offshoot of the International Hospitality Institute, was founded to serve the interests of stakeholders in the US hospitality industry.

The US hospitality industry includes hotels, resorts, restaurants, casinos, country clubs, retirement communities, senior living centers, spas, bed and breakfasts, peer-to-peer lodging, cruise ships, theme parks, hospitality schools, hospitality students, hotel management companies, REITS, airlines, event planners, transportation companies, entertainment companies, and industry vendors and partners.
